Midway ready to unleash Unreal Tournament III

Midway has lined up a heavyweight marketing campaign for upcoming shooter Unreal Tournament III.

Promotional activity will kick off at fast-growing championship gaming centre Omega Sektor in Birmingham, as part of what the publisher is calling a ‘massive European-wide launch’.
UT3 tournaments will take place across the continent, whilst the UK Omega Sektor centre will be decked out with UT3 branding.

A huge media PR and marketing campaign will get under way at the same time. Print coverage will take in the Daily Star Sunday, The Independent, The Observer, The Guardian, The Mirror, The Sun, Metro and The Telegraph.

This will be bolstered by exposure in the likes of Zoo, Nuts, Stuff, T3 and Boys Toys, whilst the game will appear on Talksport, MTV, BBC Radio 1, Central News and more.

Wide-ranging online coverage will feature on BBC.co.uk, Sci-Fi Online, Sky News, Virgin.net, Nuts Online, Loaded Online and AOL.

The PC version of the title is due in mid-to-late November, with a 360 and PS3 version to follow in the New Year.
Unreal Tournament III was developed by Epic Games, the US studio behind Gears Of War.

We feel very confident that UT3 will continue to deliver on Epic’s promise to gamers to develop only the highest quality titles,” said the studio’s VP Mark Rein.
