Develop Legend Award winner to receive new honour

Molyneux awarded Lifetime Achievement gong

Peter Molyneux has been confirmed as this year’s recipient of the Lifetime Achievement prize at the Game Developers Choice Awards.

MGS Europe Creative Director, who broke onto the scene with his old Guildford studio Bullfrog, has been building popular and innovative games for over 20 years.

In 2004 he was honoured the Develop Legend Award.

Seven years later, having sold Lionhead Studios to Microsoft and being appointed MGS Europe Creative Director, Molyneux will head to GDC to pick up the lifetime achievement award.

“Peter is a remarkable asset to the games industry, and truly embodies everything that the Lifetime Achievement Award represents,” said Meggan Scavio, event director of GDC.

“We’re proud to honor someone who has had such a profound impact on the industry, through his boundless enthusiasm and profound talent in creating games about choice and interactivity that the entire world loves to play.”
