Nottingham Developer restructures into three studios to â??drive growthâ?

Monumental Games appoints new studio heads

Online developer Monumental Games has created three focused studios to deal with it’s core areas of business growth and development. New studio heads have been hired to take control of them.

Monumental Conversion and Emerging Technologies (CET) is to focus on future technology developments such as augmented reality and motion controllers. It will be headed by Michael Delves, formally of Hasbro, Software Creations and Acclaim.

Monumental Online will concerntrate on developing the existing Monumental Technology Suite and MMO games Football Superstars and Hunters World. The studio head will be Gylan Hunter, who will also take on the role of chief art director. Hunter has been with Monumental since 2005.

Monumental Racing will continue working on Monumental Games’ racing technology capabilities. It will be headed by Andy Norman, who has been working in the industry since 2000 with companies such as Eidos, EA and SEGA. He has been with Monumental since late 2009.

“This approach puts us in a strong position to capitalise on growth opportunities in each area, improving internal focus and providing a clearer representation of our business to our present and future partners,” said Rik Alexander, CEO of Monumental Games.
