Latest release optimised for PS4 and Xbox One

Morpheme 7 integrates facial animation

NaturalMotion has launched the seventh iteration of its character animation tool Morpheme 7 and Morpheme 7 with Euphoria.

The update adds full facial animation to the tech. This can be blended, previewed and debugged while being integrated into the full-body character animation.

Morpheme Dynamics meanwhile allows node-based dynamic simulation of joint chains, designed to help mimic real-world movement. Though this approach to dynamic simulation does not require the use of a full physics engine, developers can still utilise it in conjunction with Morpheme’s Nvidia PhysX and Havok Physics integrations.

Other features to the tool include a lightweight state machine and blend tree nodes aimed at driving crowds of on-screen characters. Morpheme’s runtime code has now also been optimised for PS4 and Xbox One. Other supported platforms include iOS, Android, Xbox 360, PS3, Vita and Wii U.
