Further success could result in dedicated music label

Moshi Monsters craze spawns music single

A new single ‘The Moshi Dance’ is to be released on iTunes on 18th September following the success of online hit Moshi Monsters.

The music video for the single on YouTube, starring ‘Lady Goo Goo’ has had over three million hits since it was uploaded in June.

If successful, the London based creators Mind Candy says there are plans to launch its own music label and release further songs for characters such as Dustin Beaver and Broccoli Spears, with a potential album release later this year.

"We released the Lady Goo Goo music video on YouTube as a bit of an experiment and were amazed at the response and how fast it spread,” said Mindy Candy CEO Michael Acton Smith (pictured).

“Kids loved it so we thought it would be smart to release it and are developing many more tracks."

Moshi Monsters has been a huge hit for the development studio since its release in 2008 and now has over 50 million registered users worldwide.

The franchise has branched out from its online origins by creating the Moshi Magazine, launched in February and also has a number of toys, books and trading cards.
