General manager leaves social media company for venture fund

Nabeel Hyatt steps down as Zynga Boston head

The manager of social gaming giant Zynga’s Boston studio resigned today in favor of a position with venture fund Spark Capital.

Nabeel Hyatt, the founder and former CEO of Conduit Labs, oversaw production of Adventure World- an Indiana Jones Game.

The game has about 5.8 million active users, but was still one of Zynga’s least successful games last quarter.

Adventure World was a departure from the Zynga norm, with an emphasis on storytelling and puzzle-solving.

Hyatt explained the move on his blog: "For me it felt like time to see if I could shift my focus from building a single company to impacting the broader ecosystem."
