New Codemasters FPS named

The identity of Codemasters’ mystery FPS has been revealed – and it’s called Bodycount.

The reveal comes from a preview of the next edition of Official Xbox Magazine. Little about the game is known aside from the name, though the mag describes it as The Ultimate Shooter”.

It was revealed last month that the publisher was working on a brand new IP in the PFS genre and that development is being headed up Stuart Black – the man behind EA’s popular PS2 and Xbox 2006 shooter Black.

Stuart Black himself went on to slam the state of the current FPS market, stating: There’s a lot of cover-based shooters out at the moment, but when a guy hunkers down behind something, you’ve just got to sit there and wait for him to pop his head up. Pops up, couple of bullets to his head, pops back down again. And I’m waiting for him to pop back up again? F***ing boring. I can’t be bothered hanging around like that.”

Expect official details very shortly.
