State of Independence event set for April, early bird rates end March 16

New indie-focused event explores self-publishing

The key issue of self-publishing will be explored at a new trade event set to take place on April 8 in the UK city of York.

Known as The State of Independence, the unique event has already confirmed keynote speeches from shadow culture secretary Ed Vaizey, Revolution Software founder Charles Cecil, Tag Games MD Paul Farley, as well as nDreams’ CEO Patrick O’Lunaigh.

Specific areas to be covered at the conference include various methods of marketing and emerging business models, game funding, learning from current success stories, as well as self-marketing.

The event as been established by a partnership between three UK networks; Codeworks GameHorizon, Game Republic and Screen Yorkshire.

Early bird rates are can bring ticket prices down to as little as £75, though the deadline for this is March 16.
