Title positioned for â??FY2011â?? release

New Max Payne delay at Rockstar Vancouver

Rockstar Vancouver may have missed development milestones on the Max Payne 3 project as publisher Take-Two announced last night that the game’s release has been delayed.

The third game in Rockstar’s series will now debut as part of the publisher’s 2011 financial year – it was originally expected to have arrived some time this year.

Theoretically, the game could still launch in November or December, in line with Take-Two’s financial year forecast.

The game was originally scheduled for release in late 2009, yet it was pushed back to 2010 in order to "benefit from having more development time."

Rockstar has previously outlined a more ambitious approach with the Max Payne sequel, with a revised approach to the game’s eponymous protagonist.
