New company thought to consist of a number of game development graduates

New Sony studio Pixelopus set for E3 reveal

A new first-party Sony studio called Pixelopus is set to be revealed at E3 along with its upcoming debut game, according to the New York Times.

The studio is said to house developers from a games course at the Carnegie Mellon University, where students had been working on prototype titles for the PS Vita handheld. The students were part-taught by SCEA exec producer Alex Lee.

It is not currently clear what platform the new studio’s game will be released on, nor where the company itself is based.

We have contacted Sony for more information on the matter.

Sony’s E3 press conference will take place on Monday, June 9th at 8:30pm ET, 1:30am GMT.
