NGF Awards: Huebrix snaps up indie and overall game of the year honours

The first ever NASSCOM Gaming Forum Awards were held this year, with the award presentations taking place at NGDC this past weekend.

Huebrix from Mumbai-based indie developer Yellow Monkey Studios came away with the Indie Game of the Year and the Game of the Year awards.

The inaugural edition of the NGF Awards consisted of just three award categories. While Yellow Monkey snapped up the awards in the indie and overall categories, Chaos Theory by Diptoman Mukherjee won the award in the third category, student game of the year.

Student Game of the Year

  • Winner (jury): Chaos Theory by Diptoman Mukherjee
  • Winner (popular choice): Project Heera: Diamond Heist by Mazhlele
  • Runner-up (jury): Socioball by Apoorva Joshi

Indie Game of the Year

  • Winner (jury): HUEBRIX: A Twisted Puzzle of Space, Time and Color by Yellow Monkey Studios
  • Winner (popular choice): Song of Swords by Nautilus Mobile App Pvt Ltd
  • Runner-up (jury): Save the Dummy by Sandyloisa

Game of the Year

  • Winner (jury): HUEBRIX: A Twisted Puzzle of Space, Time and Color by Yellow Monkey Studios
  • Winner (popular choice) – Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame by Ubisoft
  • Runner-up (jury): Hitout Heroes by Disney UTV
  • Special mention (jury): Autista by MadRat Games
