Average annual bonus pay at £23,000 for the Japanese firm, reports suggest

Nintendo staff ‘given £11,000 each in bonus pay’

Staff at Nintendo’s Japanese headquarters have each been handed ¥1.45 million in Christmas bonuses, according to media reports.

If accurate, that would bring the firm’s average annual pay bonus to £23,000, as Summer bonuses were this year put at £12,000.

Nintendo has yet to comment on the accuracy of the claims, which first originated from news site ZakZak and were translated by 1Up.

The Wii manufacturer says its bonuses are paid according to individual performances, as opposed to company profit margins – a reason, perhaps, why staff are still being rewarded despite Nintendo reporting an income loss this year.
