Sackboy has to go it alone as studio says it's making a break from LittleBigPlanet

No more LBP for Media Molecule

UK studio Media Molecule has revealed that it’s work on Sony’s LittleBigPlanet franchise is over. For now at least.

According to a Tweet from Edge, the studio’s Siobhan Reddy told at audience at Barcelona’s GameLab 2011 event that: “We’re stepping away from Little Big Planet to focus on some new ideas.”

LBP has already seen life outside the walls of Media Molecule, with Sony’s Cambridge Studio having developed the PSP game and both Double11 and Tarsier Studios currently at work on the PS Vita outing.

It’s unlikely that the move indicates any ill-fortune for the LBP brand.
