Project management tool now completely integrated into popular game engine

Perforce’s P4Connect introduces Unity integration

Tools specialist Perforce Software has launched P4Connect, a product that integrates its widely used project management software into the Unity engine.

P4Connect embeds the firm’s P4D versioning engine into the Unity developer environment, allowing uses to access Perforce’s features – such as code and asset management, tracked change history and automation – directly within Unity.

Developers will not need a Unity Pro or Team Unity licence, making P4Connect available to all indie devs that use Unity.

The tool is available to download for free from both the Perforce website and the Unity store – keeping in line with Perforce’s 20/20 scheme, which makes its products free to developers for up to 20 users.

Perforce has also made the P4Connect source code available via the Perforce Workshop, and is encouraging users to help with the tool’s ongoing development.
