Hamburg outfit opens new team as its clients attribute awards successes in part to the audio company's efforts

Periscope establishes new core soundtrack team

Hamburg audio company Periscope Studio has opened a new Core Soundtrack team to increase its focus on triple-A projects.

Periscope’s head of creation Finn Seliger heads up the new team, which has been created as part of Periscope’s ongoing expansion.

"While maintaining high-quality for all our other audio services we’re furthermore passionate to breaking fresh ground for interactive soundtrack design," said Seliger. "Besides our music middleware psai being ready for action, we have brought in three very talented composers whose previous clients have included NASA/ESA, Audi, Red Bull and Sony, and we believe that their experience from outside the videogames industry as well as their curiosity for the new technology will build on our growing reputation for high quality, original and innovative soundtracks."

Periscope has also seen a number of the games it has worked on receive accolades at the recent German Computer Game Awards, and heard the creators of those winning games attributing part of their success to the audio outfit’s involvement.

At the awards show A New Beginning from Daedalic Entertainment won Best German Game and Best Youth Game, Fishlabs Entertainment’s Galaxy on Fire 2 won Best Mobile Game, and Energetika from Takomat won Best Serious Game.

"I would like specially thank our partner Periscope Studio from Hamburg," said Guido Doublet, CEO of Takomat of his team’s awards success. "Energetika would not have won the German Computer Game awards if the jury had not been impressed by the music and sound of the game. Therefore I thank Periscope and I’m looking forward to our future projects together."
