PlayStation’s Shuhei Yoshida is our Develop Legend recipient for the Develop Awards 2018

We’re delighted to announce that Shuhei Yoshida, president of PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios, will receive the Develop Legend award at this year’s Develop Awards in Brighton. The awards ceremony will take place on July 11th.

Additionally, Yoshida will be delivering the opening keynote at the Develop:Brighton conference, which takes place between the 10th and 12th of July.

We believe Shuhei Yoshida is the very definition of a development legend. For more than 25 years he’s been at the very heart of PlayStation. He was instrumental to the establishment of the platform, he’s worked on some of its most important titles, and as president of Sony’s Worldwide Studios he continues to be hugely influential in the creation of incredible games. We’re incredibly honoured and excited to have him receive the Legend Award this year.

Yoshida will open the Develop:Brighton conference on July 10th with a fireside chat, during which he’ll discuss highlights from his career, including overseeing PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios’ output, which has led Sony to publish some of the greatest games ever produced. The strength of its internal studios is ever-growing and Yoshida has been instrumental in nurturing these development teams and allowing them the freedom to innovate.

We hope you’ll join us on July 11th to celebrate Shuhei Yoshida’s incredible career. The awards shortlist has now been announced and we’re very much looking forward to seeing everyone there as we award some much-deserved accolades.

More details and table bookings for the awards can be found here.
