Radiant Silvergun gets XBLA date

Developer Treasure has at last dated the Xbox Live Arcade version of 2D shooter Radiant Silvergun.

The studio’s website says the game will be released on September 14th. It’s unclear whether this is an international date or simply just for the Japanese market.

The game was announced as part of Microsoft’s Japanese-developer focused showing at the Tokyo game Show last September.

Radiant Silvergun was first released in Japanese arcades in 1998, with the only home console version ever released arriving on Sega Saturn that same year. It was never released outside of Japan.

Its regional exclusivity, and the cult status of Treasure, has seen it go on to become a collectible item. The Saturn version regularly sells for anything between 100 and 190 on eBay.
