Gamescom isn't the only show in Cologne that's growing

Record attendance for GDC Europe

GDC Europe broke its attendance record this year with over 2,250 turning up in Cologne.

The European Game Developer’s Conference has been held in Cologne in the same week as Gamescom for several years, and this year both conferences smashed their previous turnout records.

GDC Europe is a sister to the main Game Developer Conference held annually in San Francisco, and draws industry members from all over the globe.

This year over 2,250 registered from at least 56 countries, with nearly 130 speakers and over 75 exhibitors.

The event organizers have revealed that the pairing of GDC Europe and Gamescom will return to Cologne next year, with GDC scheduled for August 11-13 and Gamescom set for the 13th-17th.
