MUD creator headlines indie MMO developer conference

Richard Bartle to keynote IMGDC 3.0

Two influential figures from the MMO development community are to be the keynote speakers at IMGDC 3.0.

The first is Richard Bartle, who co-wrote the first virtual world, MUD, in 1978. Bartle is a leading authority on the design of MMOs, and has authored several texts on creating online communities. Jessica Mulligan works as an independent consultant, and a renowned expert on MMO business development. She also wrote the highly regarded book Developing Online Games: An Insider’s Guide.

"One thing IMGDC has always been incredibly proud of is the caliber of speakers and sessions at the event. This year is no exception with speakers from Turbine to Sony Online Entertainment to large venture capital firms." said Jonathon Stevens, CEO of organisers Last Straw Productions.

"With the return of Richard Bartle and the addition of Jessica Mulligan as keynote speakers, we’re showing the world that this event is one you don’t want to miss."

For more information on the event, which takes place from 17th to 19th April in Las Vegas, visit the IMGDC 3.0 website.
