[Industry news] Mooncolony Brings in 10th Anniversary with Brand New Online Festival: MoonFest

This is a press release posted alongside our usual editorial content.

Premium game art production studio Mooncolony turns ten years old on the 1st of September, and to celebrate, they’re launching the first ever MoonFest.

Specialising in game art for clients such as Blizzard, Epic Games, Supercell, Marvel, and Riot Games, Mooncolony creates everything from 2.5D cinematics to cosmetics and card art, and has been a key part of creating the games players know and love for a decade now. Founder and Creative Director Emrah Elmasli shared:

“Ten years ago, Mooncolony started with one person and an idea in a small attic — bringing incredible talent together under one roof to work on the biggest franchises out there. A decade later, that idea has grown into an elite studio, a body of work we’re incredibly proud of, and an amazing team that makes it all happen. There are exciting plans on the horizon as we continue to expand what Mooncolony offers. We can’t wait to see what the next ten years bring, starting with our first-ever online festival, MoonFest.”

MoonFest is an online festival of events, held across the month of September, built by artists, for artists. The entire festival is completely free, with all events being hosted in the studio’s Discord. The aim is to celebrate the world of game art, whilst giving back to the artist community that helped to make Mooncolony what it is today.

MoonFest will highlight Mooncolony’s contributions to the game industry with a series of events which will inspire, teach, and even get audiences involved in the festival itself. The schedule consists of everything from traditional conference talks (“The Unique Art of 2.5D Animation: Clash of Clans in Action”) to live drawing challenges and collaborative audience + artist illustration events.
