League of Legends developer's third US branch is entire second floor of 49 West 23rd street

Riot rents New York office space

Riot Games is renting nearly 5,600 square feet of office space in New York City – the entire second floor of 49 West 23rd Street.

The League of Legends developer already has two US locations in Santa Monica and St. Louis, with several offices around the world in Dublin, Moscow, Sydney, Istanbul, and Sao Paulo.

A real estate transaction published by the New York Times shows the company has agreed to a five-year lease at almost $240,000 in annual rent.

It’s unknown just what the new offices will be used for, but it could be anything from development, marketing and business support, to server storage, or all of the above.

League of Legends has become one of the biggest players in the Multiuser Online Battle Arena market, a genre so popular and so intensely competitive its players have been recognized by the U.S. State Department as professional athletes.
