Gamebryo engine at the heart of the upcoming free-to-play MMO Howling Sword

S. Korea studio becomes newest Emergent licensee

Gamebryo engine group Emergent has signed a deal with another Asia-based studio, in a move that illustrates the firm’s serious bid to expand beyond the west.

Having just announced licensing the LightSpeed platform to a Shanghai-based MMO group, Emergent now reveals that it has struck a deal with South Korean outfit JoyMaster Interactive.

As part of this deal, the Gamebryo Engine has been used for the development of the upcoming action RPG Howling Sword, an open-world free-to-play MMO.

Howling Sword has now entered beta testing with a full release planned for this year.
