SCE merges Japan and Asia operations for Eastern push

Sony Computer Entertainment has merged its Asia and Japan offices into a single operation.

Called Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia, the reorganisation will include a new strategic planning department, a first-party publishing arm and a quality control unit.

The new office will also be responsible for product management, loan management, customer relations, sales and a new Asia strategy department.

The streamlined organisation will be headed by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan president Hiroshi Kawano, while the Asia arm’s former head Hiroyuki Oda has been named deputy president.
