Recruitment event to be held on Monday, March 14th in Guildford

Sony announces job fair for Lionhead staff

Sony has moved quickly to attract developers from Lionhead Studios following Microsoft’s proposed closure of the studio.

Microsoft announced on Monday that it was “in discussions” to shut the Fable and Black and White creator – it is a requirement under UK law to provide 30 days of consultancy, rather than immediately closing a company.

With the future looking bleak for staff at the UK developer, Sony has moved in to host a job fair in Lionhead’s home town of Guildford next Monday, March 14th.

“We’re having a recruitment event in Guildford for everyone at Lionhead Studios on Monday, please come along for a drink and a chat,” the PlayStation Jobs Twitter account announced.

“There’ll be people there from all our SCEE studios.”

As well as suggesting Lionhead’s closure, Microsoft also revealed on Monday that it had cancelled development of the studio’s next title, Fable Legends, and shuttered Danish developer Press Play.
