Kawanishi shuffled out over disagreement, says rumour mill

Sony Computer Entertainment CTO departs?

Izumi Kawanishi, Sony Computer Entertainment’s CTO, has been shuffled out of SCEI, reports Kotaku.

According to an ‘insider’, Kawanishi has been moved into the Sony corporation because of a disagreement with SCE president Kaz Hirai on the company’s promotion of the machine as ‘just a game console.’

Kawanishi was a key member in the hardware development of the PS2, PSP and PS3.
