Sony hints at more GTA on PSP

SCEA’s head of hardware marketing John Koller has hinted that Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto could form part of the Sony’s

promised PSP blitz

expected at E3 this July.

No one should sleep on that franchise,” Koller told Kotaku of the GTA brand. There’s definitely continued conversations with Rockstar on all their brands. GTA is a tremendous franchise for PlayStation in general. We’ve had two that are the top two sellers on PSP right now.

Rockstar has to manage their business as they see fit. We’re very good partners with them. They just launched The Lost and the Damned for Xbox 360, so, they need to make their own business decisions. But we certainly have a tremendous relationship with them and always have.”

Koller also questioned the correlation between the upcoming GTA: Chinatown Wars and the audience of its host platform, the DS: It’s an interesting launch on DS,” Koller said. It raises some eyebrows in a lot of areas. It’ll be interesting to see how that sells.”

And lest we be accused of blowing our own trumpet, Grand Theft Auto was one of the first names out of the pot when we covered Koller’s original remarks last week.
