Sperasoft hires former Rockstar director

Games development services firm Sperasoft has recruited Rick Smith, a former director at Rockstar Games.

Smith takes up the role of senior director of engineering services and brings with him 17 years of experience. He leaves his most recent position as director of release management at Rockstar.

His career also includes stints at Sony Online Entertainment, where he helped launch the PS3 Network Platform, and MMO specialist Trion.

“Rick will be an important addition to the Sperasoft team, as we grow our talent base and strengthen our service offering to clients,” said Sperasoft CEO Igor Efremov. “He has a breadth of experience with technologies in engineering, development, and DevOps, and as the demand for online gaming services continues to increase, his expertise and vast knowledge will be a huge win for our business partners.”

Smith added: “I am delighted to be joining the Sperasoft senior management team at this exciting time. I have watched Igor and the team build a successful business over the years – with a focus on service and technical excellence – and I look forward to being part of Sperasoft’s future successes.”
