Alten8's internal studio welcomes Glu Mobile veteran

Steve Goodwin joins Skull Monkey Games

Industry veteran Steve Goodwin has joined Skull Monkey Games, Alten8’s Luton-based internal studio focused on new IP, as head of development.

Goodwin, who was previously a senior engineer at Glu Mobile, has worked across a wide variety of platforms and developed the SGX engine, a cross-platform game engine and tool chain, which will form the base of Alten8’s development efforts. He also wrote the books Cross-Platform Games Programming and The Game Developer’s Open Source Handbook.

"We are very pleased to have Steve heading up the Skull Monkey development division here at Alten8," said Paul Andrews, CEO of Alten8.

"Not only is he bringing with him his years of experience, but also crucially his SGX engine, which will be the core of many of our games moving forward. Steve will also be working to build up the team here in Luton, as we move forward working on at least six TV and film branded IPs to be announced soon, as well as other Alten8 internally developed IPs."
