Steven ter Heide leaves Guerrilla Games

Steven ter Heide, game director for Killzone: Shadow Fall has left Guerrilla Games.

The public announcement from Heide’s Twitter confirmed, after 12 years working at the company, that he intends to start a new project although he has given no details as to what that is.

Heide’s 12 years at Amsterdam-based Guerrilla saw his rise to game director, having worked as a producer on all of the Killzone titles made by the company.

Speaking on Twitter, he said: "I have been extremely lucky to have worked with so many talented and great people and to have so many great memories. Starting up something new is going to be a big adventure that I am excited about."

Guerrilla Games’ twitter account replied to Heide, saying: "Thank you for everything, you will be missed! We wish you all the best on your new adventure!"

Guerrilla Games are currently working on the expansion for Horizon Zero Dawn, The Frozen Wilds. Their flagship Killzone series has currently taken a back seat. The last Killzone game, Killzone: Shadow Fall was released in 2013 as a PS4 launch title and no indication has been made that the series is due to return anytime soon.
