Theme-park simulator coming to iPad and Android

Tag wins Scottish Games Award

Funpark Friends was the big winner at last night’s HeraldScotland Digital Business Awards in Glasgow.

The social mobile title from Tag Games was recognised as the best Scottish game of 2011.

Tag Games CEO Paul Farley said his studio was proud to be at the forefront of the rapidly expanding social games space.

“This award is recognition of excellence in that sector then and has been achieved with our very first social mobile game! It’s an amazing achievement for the team at Tag and for Channel 4 and Creative Scotland, both of whom have provided vital support in bringing this game to market”, he said.

Published by Tagplay, Funpark Friends allows players to build and run their very own theme parks on their mobile devices.

The game is currently available on iPhone and iPod, with iPad and Android versions expected by the end of the year.

Simon Adams, Product Evangelist for Tagplay, said: “This fantastic recognition for Funpark Friends and Tagplay is wonderful. This award ultimately recognises the first step in a long road to becoming a recognised international leader in social mobile gaming, but everyone at Tagplay is excited for the journey ahead.”
