'I had an amazing 20-year ride' the former studio boss says

Team 17 leader Martyn Brown quits

Martyn Brown, the co-founder of Leeds studio Team 17, has announced his departure from the studio.

He had front-run the studio for around 20 years, and said he’s leaving the group “in great shape”.

Brown is now working as an independent game consultant.

Team 17 recently turned its back on third-party publishers in favour of digital distribution – a move that was said will increasing the number of downloadable games it produces.

“I can finally announce that I left Team17,” Brown said on his personal Facebook account.

“I had an amazing 20-year ride and whilst it’s the end of a truly enjoyable period of my life, it equally signals the start of a really exciting new one.

“My sincere, heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped, in any way, shape or form over those two glorious decades. I leave Team17 in great shape, but now is time for my own adventure.”
