Developer reacquired rights to island adventure title from Sony earlier this year

Tequila Works names Grey Box as new Rime publisher

Rime creator Tequila Works has announced the new publisher for its upcoming title.

The studio will be working with Grey Box and its parent firm Six Foot to release the Wind Waker-looking puzzle-adventure game starring a young boy shipwrecked on an island.

The title was first revealed almost exactly three years ago at Gamescom 2013 as a PlayStation exclusive.

However, the game’s platform exclusivity was brought into question in March of this year after Tequila Works announced that it had reacquired the rights to Rime from Sony – opening the door for a multi-platform release when it finally launches next year.

Grey Box and Six Foot previously worked with Petroglyph Games to publish Grey Goo and inked a deal with Spec Ops: The Line developer Yager to bring Dreadnaught to market.

"We’ve always wanted Rime to captivate players’ imaginations, capturing that feeling of being a child and experiencing the wonders of a bedtime story for the first time," Tequila Works CEO and creative director Raúl Rubio Munárriz said as part of the announcement.

"We’re so excited to find in Grey Box and Six Foot partners just as eager as we are to make that vision for such a personal project a reality."
