The Italian Game Awards 2018 winners in full

Tonight the Italian Game Awards took place in Milan. A celebration of video games across the world, but also a time to reflect on all of the great Italian contributions to the industry. In partnership with the IVGA, we were offered the opportunity to award two very special prizes, to the best of the best in Italy.

We’re very grateful to AESVI, the organisers of the awards, for allowing us to contribute to the show. The Italian game industry’s increased globalisation is something that we’ve been watching eagerly, as it continues to grow. Below you’ll find the full list of winners tonight, starting with our special recognition awards:

MCV Special Recognition Award: Most Successful Italian Company
Digital Bros

Digital Bros’ almost 30 years in the industry has cemented the Italian company as a major force in games development and publishing. Its publishing arm, 505 Games, is now an internationally respected publishing brand, from its early success with the Cooking Mama titles to recent indie hits like Virginia and Abzu. Its upcoming collaboration with legendary developer Koji Igarashi, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, looks set to further push the publisher’s global reach.

Meanwhile, the Digital Bros Game Academy gives Italian language speakers the opportunity to learn game art and design in an intensive studio environment, preparing them to grow the Italian game industry from within and to join the global development community and spread Italian culture and values.

MCV Special Recognition Award: Most Successful Individual in Italian Games
Davide Soliani

Since Davide Soliani’s dream project, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, was revealed at E3 2017, he’s become a posterchild for passion in the industry. His love for Nintendo and his game design nous not only led to this once in a lifetime collaboration, but also resulted in one of the best strategy games in recent years. Soliani is an inspiration to developers the world over and a beloved character in the global games industry.
