Campaign closes at $4.19 million to become most-funded game in crowdfunding website's history

Torment Kickstarter sets new record

InXile’s Torment: Tides of Numenera Kickstarter campaign has closed at $4.19 million, making it the platform’s new record holder for games.

The sequel to Black Isle Studio’s beloved Planescape: Torment RPG has been talked about since creator Chris Avellone first arrived on the crowdfunding scene.

The game has even been used to drum up support for other games, like Obsidian’s crowdfunded RPG, made by a team which Avellone joined as part of the campaign stretch goal.

Avellone has been confirmed as part of the team for the new Torment game as well.

"All of us made history yesterday, reaching a new record for the most funded video game on Kickstarter," said the studio in a project update.

"Thank you so much for your support, both through your pledges and through your spreading the word to others."
