Ubisoft licenses Playspan monetisation platform

Publishing giant Ubisoft has signed a key deal with Playspan, the Californian online tools firm, to use its virtual goods monetisation platform.

Ubisoft will implement the monetisation tech for numerous online games across multiple platforms.

The publisher’s VP of digital publishing, Chris Early, said using Playspan’s pay platform “will enable us to get to market quickly with high quality and confidence.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Early added: “We can concentrate on our core competency of delivering rich gaming experiences without worrying about complex international payment requirements.”
