Ubisoft sacks producer Jean-Francois Boivin

Ubisoft has fired former Assassin’s Creed producer Jean-François Boivin.

Patrice Desilets, who also left the studio in seemingly acrimonious circumstances having been walked out of the office by security, said his former THQ Montreal colleague had also left the studio with him.

"Thinking of my good friend and producer [Jean-François Boivin] who also got fired yesterday," said Desilets on Twitter.

"I’m sharing your support with him…"

Boivin first joined Ubisoft in 2005 as project manager, before taking on other roles including production manager and associate producer, working on titles such as Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.

In October 2011 he left Ubisoft Montreal to join Desilets at his new studio, THQ Montreal, as senior producer on a new triple-A IP, mostly likely 1666.

THQ Montreal was then bought out by Ubisoft earlier this year during the auction of the now closed publisher’s assets, at which point both Boivin and Desilets returned to the publisher.
