British game industry looks to put affected devs back into employment

UK developers rally to support laid off Blitz staff

Developers from across the UK have raliied together today to find new jobs for employees affected by the closure of one of Britain’s longest-standing studios, Blitz.

It was announced today that the company has ceased trading as a result of not securing enough funds. 125 staff have been let go while another 50 have secured employment through a new business set up by Blitz’ senior management.

To help those affected by the studio’s closure, a wave of studios throughout the UK have called on former employees to get in touch about new job opportunities.

Developers such as Rebellion, Sega Hardlight, Four Door Lemon, First Touch Games, Frontier, Pitbull, Playground Games and Mind Candy are just a few examples of studios helping developers relocate.

You can view the openings below. If you have any further openings, please get in touch on Develop’s Twitter account @developonline.

We’ll be updating the below, but for more vacancies, indie developer Mike Bithell has been retweeting numerous jobs on his Twitter wall. A new tumblr feed has also been set up with a plethora of vacancies across the UK.
