Trade body UKIE hosts mix of leading British developers and service firms in San Francisco

UK industry stand brings 35 firms to GDC

Watch out San Francisco: the British are coming! Or rather, they’re already there.

UKIE is once again hosting the UK games industry stand at this year’s Game Developers Conference, and in doing so has helped 35 companies secure a place at the biggest event in the development calendar.

Grants from government division UKTI has helped games businesses save £25,000 when attending GDC with UKIE this year.

In addition to representatives from development studios and services firms, the stand also offers exhibition spaces, a hospitality area and gives attending firms the chance to arrange one-to-one meetings with potential partners.

“Shows like GDC help give the UK industry a crucial platform to help attract investment, promote the industry and generate business for UK companies,” said UKIE CEO Jo Twist. “With the introduction of the tax breaks last year, there has never been a better time to make games in the UK and we are proud to be flying the flag with some great British talent.”
