Contest returns to reward the best of British when it comes to unreleased games

UKIE running UK Game of the Show Award at Gamescom 2015

Trade body UKIE will once again run a competition to find the best UK game currently in development.

Returning for a third year, the UK Game of the Show Award will be handed to the best as-yet-unreleased game by a British developer shown at the expo. It ties in nicely with the UK’s position as partner country for this year’s Gamescom.

Anonymous judges will be exploring the exhibition on Wednesday and Thursday to evaluate the best UK-developed games on show, with the winner announced during an evening reception at UKIE’s stand on Thursday, August 6th.

All exhibitors on the UKIE stand and their guests are invited to attend. For info on getting involved, please email sam@ukie.org.uk.

The award will be sponsored this year by Green Man Gaming. Last year, the award went to Mouldy Toof’s The Escapists.

“There is a huge amount of exciting talent in the UK games industry at the moment and the UK Game of the Show Awards is here to celebrate the fantastic work that is being produced her in Britain,” said UKIE CEO Jo Twist.

“We’re delighted that Green Man Gaming is supporting the award, and look forward to seeing all the amazing talent on show at this year’s expo.”
