Cloud features analytics, marketing and monetisation to help developers promote their games

Unity reveals new cloud services

Unity has revealed new cloud services to help developers acquire new players and promote and monetise their games.

Called Unity Cloud, the online service provides developers with analytics, marketing and monetisation capabilities. It also works through a user’s existing Unity Developer Network account, and will not require native SDK integration.

Developers will also be able to use the cloud to run advertising in the mobile apps, and also exchange installs with other Unity developers.

The services comes after a customer survey by Unity which resulted in 22,000 respondents, with more than two-thirds of mobile developers asking for new online services from the company.

Unity said additional services to the Unity Cloud will be rolled out in the near future.

“Unity has spent the last ten years focused on creating the best software development platform on the market and building an incredible community. Keeping to this tradition, we’re pleased to offer developers Unity Cloud,” said Unity CEO David Helgason.

“We’re already working with many of the world’s largest publishers and well known indie developers, and thus Unity Cloud represents millions of dollars of revenue flowing to Unity developers, which is something that makes everyone at the company very, very happy.”
