Engine firm doubles sales, community participation and staffing

Unity sees 100 per cent growth

Unity has defied the economic downturn by announcing a doubling of sales in the past six months.

The engine developer has also seen community activity double within the past six months – and is planning to double its staff, with over 20 staff vacancies at its San Franscisco office alone.

“We seem to have struck a chord with the community, professional developers and new companies looking at ways to engage with their audience through web based games,” said David Helgason, CEO of Unity Technologies.

“There’s been a fundamental shift towards web based games and MMO’s which has now reached a tipping point in the west. There’s no turning the clock back.”
