Sony continues Android games drive with new footage of Xperia Play

VIDEO: PlayStation Phone official reveal

Telecoms firm Sony Ericsson has released a video of its upcoming device, dubbed the ‘PlayStation Phone’.

The video reveal can be found below.

The mobile, named Xperia Play, is built on Google’s Android OS and various leaks show the device is based on the PSPgo form-factor.

Numerous leaked videos showed the mobile is able to run PSP ROMS – though many Android devices are able to do this via pirated copies widely available on the web.

Sony has however established a new development platform to port its own games onto Android devices – breaking a 16-year tradition of PlayStation exclusivity. More on that can be found here.

After its signature-style brand advertising, the Sony advert goes on to show various games playing on the device. A full reveal will take place this Sunday February 13th at 18:00 GMT.
