WATCH: Schafer and Gilbert on crafting adventures

Double Fine creative director Tim Schafer recently sat down with Monkey Island creator Ron Gilbert to debate the adventure games in the modern age.

Gilbert discusses what makes a strong adventure title, what elements still exist in modern games today, and why the genre has faded in a growing crowd of competing games and genres.

Both also discuss games design – even debating whether script writers should be fluent in coding.

Double Fine’s Kickstarter project has now reached $2.24 million.
