Yorkshire studio working on new instalment of the flagship IP

Worms creator returns to Team17

Andy Davidson, the British games developer whose first project went on to define his career, has returned to work at Yorkshire studio Team17 after a fourteen year hiatus.

The games designer (pictured) parted ways with Team17 in the late nineties during the development of Worms Armageddon.

“I left Team17 feeling I hadn’t finished what I wanted to achieve, but for professional reasons I knew I had to walk away”, he said.

Though little is known of Davidson’s time away from Team17 – it was once speculated he was working on a new IP – it is claimed he returned to the studio “to scratch the creative itch that’s been bothering me for the last fourteen years”.

Team17 is currently working on new project Worms Revolution.

“I’d always hoped Andy would return but never thought it would actually happen”, said studio managing director Debbie Bestwick.

“The passion he shows for Worms is almost palpable and I’m looking forward to see how his injection of fresh enthusiasm into an already highly motivated and skilled team will affect things.”
