Jeffrey Katzenberg joins board of directors at social games giant

Zynga board welcomes DreamWorks CEO

DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg has joined the board of directors at social games studio Zynga.

The event was announced on Zynga’s blog.

Katzenberg will round-out a body also staffed by Pincus and Zynga COO Owen Van Nataa, investor Brad Feld, Kleiner Perkins’ Bing Gordon and LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman.

“We’re incredibly excited to announce that Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation, has joined Zynga’s Board of Directors,” said Zynga founder Mark Pincus.

“Jeffrey and I have been friends for some time, and I knew he’d be a great fit for the board after he suggested that the blockbuster of 2011 could be ShrekVille.

“DreamWorks Animation is a revolutionary technology company, a recognised consumer brand, and at its core, a media company. It’s easy to see the value that Jeffrey will add to Zynga as we grow and look for more ways to delight our players.”
