Latest free-to-play game attracting over 84.2m users each month

Zynga’s CityVille breaks new ground

Having been on the market for just over a month, Zynga’s latest Facebook title CityVille has already attracted an astonishing 84.2m players.

Inside Social Games reports that this puts CityVille ahead of Facebook’s current record-holder, Zynga’s FarmVille. The latter title, however, took nine months to reach that landmark, suggesting CityVille still has a long way to go.

The game was only unveiled at the end of November but by mid-December it had already attracted in the region of 26m registered users.

it currently boasts around 16.8m active users every day. By contrast, at its peak FarmVille enjoyed around 34.5m daily users.
