EA executives shake up management roles

A week after Andrew Wilson’s promotion to EA CEO, the company has made some management role tweaks to fill in the gaps.

According to an internal memo leaked by an anonymous source to Venture Beat, EA Games label vice president Patrick Soderlund will become the head of EA Sports. The news was apparently revealed during a company-wide town hall meeting this past Tuesday.

EA’s digital distribution service Origin – which Wilson also oversaw – will now be led by EA Labels president Frank Gibeau, who will head up the firm’s mobile division as well.

EA has yet to publicly comment on the moves, so it’s not yet understood if Gibeau will continue his work as Labels president along with the new roles.

The memo also makes mention of Peter Moore still being on with the company, but doesn’t specify if he’ll maintain his title as chief operating officer.
