Blizzard hire TJ Sanders for Hearthstone eSports team

Blizzard has hired Hearthstone caster and personality, TJ Sanders, to join the game’s eSports Broadcasting and Production team.

The jovial and light-hearted commentator has been a regular on the casting desk of multiple Hearthstone tournaments as of late, including the recently concluded ESL Trinity Series. Sanders has also been involved with official Blizzard Hearthstone tournaments in the past, but he now joins the company in a permanent role.

“Hey guys, happy to announce I’ve joined @Blizzard_Ent as part of the Hearthstone esports team! Let’s bring some fun to HCT,” he wrote on Twitter.

He later expanded on his new role in a statement on Reddit, saying: “Just wanted to come and make it clear some of the things I’ll be doing at Blizzard. I’ll be working specifically on broadcasts – which means building player stories and being creative with media and show segments for most of Blizzard’s Hearthstone shows. I’ll also still be casting for the HCT, and working closely with casters leading up to shows to help deliver the best narratives.

“If you’ve seen me cast you know I like to have fun and I think that is what Hearthstone is all about,” he continued. “So I hope I can bring some more of that fun to Blizzard’s broadcasts in creative ways and build on some of the great things they’ve already done with their Hearthstone programs.”

The next big event in the Hearthstone calendar is the HCT Winter Championships, which start up later this week on March 23rd in The Bahamas. Sixteen players, including 2016 Blizzcon World Champion, Pavel ‘Pavel’ Beltukov, will compete for a piece of the $250,000 prize pool.
