Bluehole say Battlegrounds vaulting system won’t be in-game until November, at least

In a blog post outlining the game’s new update, the PUBG team have shed light on the progress of vaulting.

“There are some challenges to introducing the feature as soon as people are requesting,” said the blog post, written by the PUBG development and community team. “First of all, our vaulting system is not built on predefined objects or locations in the map. There are tens of thousands of objects that should be vaultable or climbable in Erangel. To perform the action, the geometry and properties of each object have to be dynamically detected and analyzed. The algorithm is quite complex and requires rigorous testing and fine-tuning of the map.”

The current plan is to test vaulting on the test servers in November, although they note that if needed, it might be rolled out for a little while even before November. Until then however, vaulting will continue to be worked on internally.

The forthcoming patch also removes the ability to set crouch and jump to the same keybind, which many players were using to get through high windows and over fences. While vaulting will offer a solution to a lot of those problems, the community is going to be left without an easy solution to traverse the landscape in the meantime.

PUBG developers Bluehole have said that an update on vaulting testing schedules will come soon.
