Brazilian football star Ronaldo invests in eSports team

Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, or Brazilian Ronaldo to you and me, has invested in CNB e-sports Club.

The football star who won the World Cup back in 2002 has purchased half of the organisation alongside professional Poker player André Akkari and Igor Trafane Federal who is the CEO of the Brazilian Series of Poker. The original founders of CNB, Cleber “Fuzi” Fonseca and Carlos “Fury” Júnior, own the other half of the org and will continue to run its operations.

Ronaldo is perhaps the biggest sports star to seriously invest in eSports. He was widely considered one of, if not the best footballer in the world during the late 90’s and early 2000’s and played for many major clubs. After his retirement from football he made a name for himself in the world of professional poker, where he met his fellow investors in CNB.
